Well, hey, as if I wanted an inspiration drain, here we go! The hot weather’s seriously developing and I’m in desperate need of a new fan for this room. The atmosphere is very… heavy.
Having said that, I still feel like I’m neglecting this place. Must try harder! 5/10.
On a serious note, there’s another reason I’m less than frequent here: my computer, which is barely more than six months old, has developed hard drive problems. They really make goods to last these days, huh! I’ve tried restoring the system twice, but the data corruption re-emerges within a day or two, so it looks like I’m having to make a call on Monday. I am actually quite pissed off about this.
Had the same trouble with this machine 2 years back. It’s an e-machine, good value at the time, but the hard drive died in six months!!!. Thankfully this one’s still going (note to self:don’t tempt fate) but it does the same weird knocking/stalling thing that the original one did. Reckon it’s some design fault. Ho hum.

Yeah, I’ve had the knocking/stalling thing. But it’s the recurring data corruption that’s making it impossible to use. It totally screwed up last night (lost sound, apps going down, etc.), and rather than bother with another system restore, I’m back on the old computer for the time being. This one’s been lying on the floor unused for six months and is working fine!
Time to make that call in a minute, I think…
