Hair Raising

Did I mention I’m thinking of having some blonde added to the front of my hair? Time for something different. Maybe on my one non-bad hair day this year! Anyway, it’s a look I like, unless my friendly neighbourhood stylist talks me out of it!

I finally booked the moving of the rest of my stuff into the flat for Thursday the 22nd. It’s costing £40, so a tenner less than it might’ve been.

This and That

A bit of retail therapy today, in anticipation of being skint very soon (said therapy pretty much guarantees that!). Most importantly, I bought a new jacket for while the weather is still a bit bobbins: I won’t describe the horror that was my only other coat suited to the weather, but suffice it to say this was a necessary purchase.

I’ve been trying to track down someone who would move the rest of my stuff into the flat for less than £50. This is an uncertain situation at the moment, but even if it does cost £50, it’s being done next Thursday or Friday. I hope I can get it cheaper, but enough’s enough.

I decided to re-read some H.P. Lovecraft recently. I realised it’d been about ten years at least since I’d read any of his stuff—I have a three-volume set of his work I bought eons ago.

Being Positive

Okay, first entry of the New Year! But not much to say, really, except I hope everyone is recovering from the holiday period nicely—the even greater than usual degree of inactivity has left me personally feeling more lethargic than usual! But I’m generally feeling positive and geared toward doing more constructive things.

Getting a Life, Maybe

Yesterday was beyond dull, and I could not even invent anything remotely interesting to say about it. Which of course beggars the question, why am I even mentioning it?

Today has been a bit more interesting in a typically dull to anyone but myself kind of way. The guy from Telewest came to install my phone line in the flat this morning—I was given the times 8:00am-12:00pm, but quite contrary to any expected last-minute arrival, he turned up at 10:30, and was done in five minutes. All seems to be working fine, so that’s another thing sorted out.

End of Weekend

Well… another weekend almost over. And it was mostly a very good one.

Friend did get into Brum at 11:00pm Friday night, and I arrived just a few minutes later. A quick hug, then we had a Friday night meal in one of the local Indian restaurants.

No Red Carpet…

The guy came to fit my carpet today. For those who don’t know, I’m currently in the process of trying to make a council flat about a mile up the road from my current (parental) home liveable. A slow and expensive process, although mom is helping out a lot. Anyway, Mr. Carpet Man, making idle conversation, asserted: ‘I had you pegged for a student.’ Interesting. I recently turned 32 and I didn’t even have my glasses on.
