The Christmas display in Birmingham is well up to its usual unimpressive standards. Tourists are flocking from yards around to see the spectacle. Hm. Yes. Well, actually, I’ve just found that taking a snap of part of it while walking makes it almost look interesting…

Psychedelic! Well, kinda.

While I’m here: Bowie fans should note the release of a Mojo special devoted entirely to the man himself. Loads of reviews, articles and photos. Cool stuff. I was especially pleased to note their list of top twenty Bowie songs had “Heroes” at number one. I think it was the easiest choice when making my own list, but having your taste echoed in print is strangely comforting. 🙂

Speaking of which, the “Heroes” album happens to be spinning within my CD player at this very instant. I’m reminded of what an amazing opener Beauty and the Beast is, and how totally fresh and oddly contemporary it sounds.
