I’m becoming increasingly preoccupied with the house move situation. It seems to me, it could easily drag on for months and months. Our budget is restricted, so we can’t just buy the first place that looks nice. *sigh* We’re looking at very limited options.
Well, anyway, it’s all good fun, so the saying goes.
I’m halfway through reading The Stand. I could’ve read it faster, but what’s the rush. I’m pleasantly surprised, I guess, because some reviews had slated it for being slow and draggy. (I’m reading the ‘complete and uncut’ version; these reviews were referring to the original, shorter printing!) I haven’t found it dragging at all, on the whole. It’s probably fair to say that there are instances of ‘too much information’ liberally scattered throughout, but it hasn’t troubled me. It’s rather predictably superior to the TV movie version, at any rate!
The Stand: the `too much information’ criticism is probably valid for _Cryptonomicon_ too, but I find it all fascinating (every time).
The Site: I enjoy keeping up with your adventures in this manner. I’ve been trying to catch up on my information-gathering routine (also includes daily doses of Slashdot and The Register) hopelessly cramped by work lately.
