In Search of…

Hmmm, okay, as the stories about this have spread across the Internet like a rash since Blake Bell posted about it, I might as well confirm that the Jonathan Ross show I was working on back in Feb/March (and which I have continued to help with where I can, as needed) is entitled “In Search of Steve Ditko”. It’s a profile of the less-famous half of the original Spider-Man creative team, to be aired on BBC4 sometime in the near future.

My March 1st entry was related to this, of course.

Otherwise, I don’t want to discuss too many details, or nuts and bolts, except to say, I hope it’ll be a really cool show, and it’s nice to have been able to contribute.

In other news, I’m strangely happy to say that I managed to draw my first page of comics this year last week. Da Muse hasn’t been on good terms with me recently, but a talk with my friend, Steve, including some suggestions on what directions I might pursue (esp as it relates to work prospects), resulted in some creative motivation. I am, of course, far too bogged down with trying to move for the third time in seven months to be giving such matters the attention they deserve… but it feels good to have made a start in being productive again.

It only crossed my mind today, having not thought about it too much for a while, that it’ll be a year since mom died at the end of this month. 🙁 Very odd sensation. The dedication on the top logo was meant to be temporary, but I forgot to take it down, so eventually I decided I would leave it up there till the first anniversary… but time really flies… the last year’s been a rollercoaster of violent highs and lows, for sure… I am hoping the future will embrace terms like ‘stability’ and ‘security’ a bit more, to be honest.
