Noticing that some people still look here every day, it seems almost churlish to be neglecting this place. But I really haven’t had anything interesting to say (do I ever?), nor the desire to ramble for the sake of it. I guess that makes this entry pretty redundant, but I thought I’d express my apathy. Just for the sake of it, maybe.
As one of your daily visitors I think you should keep up with the weblog. Here’s an interesting list of thoughts about weblog writing. But whether you carry on or give up is your choice.
I wasn’t talking about giving up the blog. If I don’t write anything, it just means a lack of anything new, really. The article is interesting, but like all such articles, it seems to come off sounding like it’s talking about the marketing of a product… I think, if you want to pose for attention this is great, but if you want a fairly genuine reflection, there’s no way you can follow rules or formula. I’ve done that on occasion, and the results are always contrived.
Well, hey, promotion is my weakest point anyway. I don’t have a marketing bone in my body. (Another impediment to being a Web designer too, lack of skill notwithstanding!) So this will always be a blog with a moderate audience. I don’t much care, thinking about it.
Hey Chrissie,
Good to see you haven’t given up on the Blogg.
I think it’s time I got shot down again,,, so here’s a couple more suggestions on the job front.
How about becoming a politician or as a start get in with the council. I know this is a bad thing to suggest, perhaps, in that the type of people who are in councils don’t usually make my day. However you seem to feel quite strongly about the way people are treated by government – who knows you could make a difference.
Alternatively, how about trying for a career in journalism ? There’s a couple of jobs going at the BBC (Cruel I know).
By the way the Hutton report got me fuming, government is corrupt to the core.
I did post a reply to this, but it was lost in the mire of technical probs mentioned elsewhere.
Anyway, gist of what I said: the politics idea is derisory, ergo no comment! As to journalism… I am a failed journalist. I have done a tiny bit of it professionally, just not very recently. Which might just mean I don’t cut it! If you disagree, giz a job, cos no one else wants to offer me one…
And no, I didn’t shoot you down before. It just seems a few people are overrating my Web skills for reasons I can’t imagine, and you’re one of ’em. The challenge/onus is on YOU people to prove you’re right, as I don’t believe it. Simple!
