Okay, I thought I’d try to offer a bit of rambling. As I’ve said before, I do keep intending to write more often. I have a few ideas but it hasn’t been coming together so far.
What I’ve been watching: season two of Lost Girl. Intellectually (hah), I’m sure this show doesn’t hold up for a second. And yet, I love it loads. It’s been getting better and better lately—I watched eps 19-20 last night. Also enjoying the Nikita reboot, and again, it’s a ‘leave your brain at the door’ deal, but I don’t have a problem with that. Maggie Q is great and Xander Berkeley is always fun to watch. What has not grabbed me, although I’ve only watched two (or is it three?) eps, is season two of The Walking Dead. Yeah, yeah, season one was quite good. It’s nothing George Romero hadn’t already done in 1978 and 1985 but, the atmosphere and pacing was solid. This time round I’m struggling to care.
On a similar note, I seem to have lapsed after two episodes of Being Human series four. I didn’t even mind them so I feel compelled to get back to it. It was lacking a certain something, though. (Duh, that’d be most of the cast from the first three series!)
What I’m watching as little of as possible, right now, is the news. Politically, things are getting awfully depressing in this country.
Duly noted that I haven’t done a Webcomics for ages, either, and I’ve been meaning to get to that! Yesterday I dusted off an old film idea—all I have is a brief outline right now. It’s a horror movie, something of a Euro-Horror hommage, and the title is “Terror At Bell’s End”. You can run with that however you like. That’s all I’m saying about it for now.
As you’re aware, I’m also a big fan of Lost Girl. The main draw for me, as it was for Buffy, is the interpersonal relationships, particularly between Bo and Kenzi. (Nice to see a fantasy series with so many strong female characters, both good and evil.)
