Last Friday, at a local WHSmith, I spotted Wolves of the Calla, the latest volume in Stephen King’s incredibly great Dark Tower epic. Naturally, I snapped it up! This hardcover edition boasts 12 full-colour illos by Bernie Wrightson, which are terrific. The funny thing is, this was October 31st; most sources, including Amazon, reckon it’s not out until November 4th. Seems WHS have been a bit naughty in selling this item before the official release date… not that I’m complaining!

Good news. I haven’t been following closely, but last I’d heard, Bernie’s hands were in bad shape for working.
Last time I heard anything, it was that his eyesight was deteriorating! Shame he’s having such a rough time. He can still do nice work, anyway.
