The Real Thing

I haven’t mentioned it before, so… in case you didn’t know, Mr. David Bowie is putting out a new album, Reality, in September. Well, I’m excited, anyway! His last album, Heathen, was really good. Not a classic, but a nice piece of work. (Here’s what I thought back then.)

One disappointment: I can’t go to see him live. 🙁 I’d hoped I would be able to, but with all that’s going on in my life, and having no money, no can do. I hope to get another chance next year, maybe, but even Bowie’s gotta quit eventually! Fingers crossed.

Anyway, casting aside the old tradition of doing it on a Monday, next posting will be a Top Ten. It’s been ages since I did one, and since you asked, yes, it has a musical theme. Later.

  1. I managed to get 2 tickets to see Bowie at the NEC this coming November as a birthday present for my partner. Boy were they expensive. £46 each + 10% booking fee. Sheesh, he better be good! I was lucky enough to see him maybe 10 years ago on the tour where he promised it’d be the last time he played oldies, around the Tin machine days I think. He was very good but as that was the NEC too and we had duff seats it was a bit like watching him on a noisy TV. Since then though I gather he’s realised his back catalog contains some of his best material so I think it’s old and new songs these days.

I’ll take bets on how much the tour programme and T-shirts are going to cost…
