Today apparently was the hottest day of the year so far. They’re saying it’s the hottest period we’ve had in the UK since the 1976 drought. (Of which I have only the vaguest of memories.) And… it’s set to be even hotter tomorrow! Wow. Wonderful. I’m so thrilled, I think I might wet my pants. Really.
Yeah, I had a New Deal appointment today. Yeah, it was another truly appalling experience. Government employees have the power to make you feel like shit and lose the will to live, but it’s still ‘none of our responsibility.’ Sure. I guess maybe a hired killer can take that line: ‘Gee, I was just hired to do a job, it’s got nothing to do with me!’ No one’d buy it, right? I start the 13-week fiasco next Monday.
I’m still open to job offers.
