I have to say that John Lydon is tremendously entertaining on the latest I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, in what is otherwise a pretty tired lineup. This, from someone who never liked the Sex Pistols. Then again, I had few thoughts about anarchy when I was seven or eight years old; the attitude probably seems more relevant today. Maybe I should go buy a copy of Never Mind the Bollocks…
I’m just disappointed that overweight 77-year-old cardiac patient Frank Carson was dropped from the show at the last minute. The producers evidently decided that the potential for live coronary action was not the greatest idea ever. For shame.
Awww! I can’t believe I am so much older than you! lol. To elucidate, I’m a 1967’er and NMTB was suach a huge part of my life, yes you should get a copy! lol. I too think it’s a shame that Frank isn’t on TV full stop! He was such a hoot on TISWAS. Ah well, such is life eh? It’s great to see you posting, not in a patronising “I’m glad you’re ok” way, more a kind’ve you’re fun way :o)
2004 snogs
Well, not that much older. But when the Pistols were a big deal, I was very small and our household’s music was Radio 2 at the time, so I only had a vague concept of what this Evil Force was about. I don’t think I heard a record by them properly until the early ’80s. I guess I’ve always been quite fond of Pretty Vacant, though. (And so, it was fun to see him yell a snatch of it the other night.)
Frank Carson’s great. But let’s face it, his desire to appear on that show was moderately suicidal. 🙂
