Strictly Window Shopping

Shopping Day today. Choice of venue: Birmingham. I rather like doing this on a Thursday, and thankfully, my sexy government fandango being on temporary hiatus meant nothing cramped my style. 😉

In Waterstone’s, I spotted This is Orson Welles. This is a collection of interviews Peter Bogdanovich conducted with the great man, plus extracts from the Touch of Evil memo, etc. I almost bought it. I mean, it’s just too good! But the price tag prevented me (£16.50). Anyone feeling generous? 🙂 I should compile an Amazon Wish List.

Speaking of OW, I saw the new DVD release of Citizen Kane in Dudley for £12.99 earlier this week. It should be £19.99, and the cheapest I saw it in Birmingham today was £16.99. A bargain. Maybe it’ll still be a bargain when this move’s sorted and things are easier money-wise. Oh, and when we actually own a DVD player…

I hadn’t looked for it before (it’s been out a week or three), but I noticed the Daredevil video was going for £10.99. My old friend Paul gave it a good review when it was in the cinema, so I’m fairly interested to see it. Just not right now. Our financial situation is too tight. *sigh*

What I came home with was two carrier bags of food and little else. At least we’re still eating.

(I said I’d write about something else—I didn’t promise it’d be interesting!)
