It’s taken a month to get here (from there), but it was worth the wait!
The Sunday shoot was with Melyza Fay playing Jude, Bette Noir’s assistant, as mentioned previously. We filmed the scene at Route 44, part of the superb Inn on the Green, standing in very nicely for Club Vamp itself.
Melyza was terrific, and very helpful to Steve, who doesn’t consider himself an actor per se, even if playing himself (or a version thereof). He had a lot of lines to work with and M gave him some great pointers.
We shoot the final part of this little item with Elizabeth Hastings playing the part of Marie this coming Friday.
Meanwhile, here’s a character shot of Jude and an on-set snap. More soon!!
So we collected an A1 size printed version of the lovely, if I do say so myself, Club Vamporama poster (as seen here) yesterday… it’s now ready in a frame for Sunday’s shoot with Melyza Fay, who will be playing Jude, Bette Noir’s PA and confidante. Voila!
(Excuse quality & reflections. Best I could manage right there. More soon!)
A follow-up to this. Now in ever-lovin’ colour!
Follow-up to this posting. Here’s the inked, toned & coloured cover artwork for the in-progress first PRINT issue of Club Vamporama.
Yep, here’s the inked & toned cover artwork for the in-progress first PRINT issue of Club Vamporama. The finished cover will be full colour… this is all you get for now! 🙂
As mentioned elsewhere, work is underway on a Club Vamporama live-action teaser/short film, including prelim talks with potential cast members. Liz Black’s characters have been around for ten years now, and a filmed version has been discussed for 4-5 years. Looks like it’s gonna start coming together! 🙂
Anyhow, a poster for a gig by Bette Noir and her band, at everyone’s fave club, is seen in the opening moments of the shooting script and called for some artwork & design to be executed so said poster could be physically printed (size will be around A0). So, Yours Truly did the honours. Here it is. Below the poster is the isolated original art of Bette & Co. Feedback welcome!
Okay! This is the second and final strip celebrating the tenth birthday of Club
Comicana Vamporama. It’s also the last new J&M strip to go on here for a while, probably, as I’m working on Club Vamporama #1, an actual PRINT comic. The cover is finished; I might post a preview sometime.
More later, etc. Hope you enjoy the comic… it’s a hint of things to come…

New comics! As some of you know, I stopped doing comics after February 2013. During the hiatus I did some other things, including a few T-shirt designs. Anyhow, the strip pitch idea I mentioned recently was the first comics I’d done since Feb ’13; but right now I’m moving towards a number of new projects, including regular Webcomics and a revival of Club
Yup, Club Com/Vamp is, as of June 2016, exactly ten years old! To celebrate, there will be two new strips; firstly, a reworking of an older strip, below—to be followed shortly by an all-new one! As ever, the (revised) script is by Liz B and the art is by Yours Truly…
The original version of this strip can be seen here—compare & contrast!!
It’s been a while again. But this strip was a chance to give a nod to Mr Bowie’s return to music, plus other silliness. With apologies to Bryan Talbot!
Art & plot: Cheezy-Peez; Script: Lizbeth B
Yep! And by the way, this is the first strip that is fully scripted by Liz B (I’ve adapted from her notes or passages from screenplays previously)—that’ll be why the writing suddenly got better! :b We have some cool plans afoot, anyhow, so stay tuned, etc…
