Principal Photography for the indie short All Bad Things was held yesterday, at the Rajnagar, Olton, and everything went really well… plus, we wrapped well ahead of time! We still have two further (small) blocks of filming to do in the next week or two, but the biggest part is in the can and, IMO, looking real nice!!
Here are a couple of on-set photos (during the run-through before actual filming), and a big shot of the cast & crew assembled.
Group photo shows, left-to-right: Joe Dempster, Sham Zaman, Gabriela Zogall, Anthony Atkins, Sophie Sharp, Olivia Comer, John Messer, Kevin Clarke, Steve Green, Rob Eadon, Demelza O’Sullivan, Abul Kalam, Liam Woon, Aliy Haycox, Jamie Lambe. Not shown: Chrissie Harper (because I took the photo!), David Shakes (because he had to leave early) and Omar Kasis.
As we shoot the bulk of our short indie film, All Bad Things, this coming weekend… as mentioned here, here and here… I thought a few storyboards might be interesting.
(Obviously, these boards aren’t meant to be pretty illos, but rather, rough & ready guides to assist the shoot.)
What the title says; this is the book that will feature in our short film—shooting soon!
Yep, we held rehearsal on the short film “All Bad Things” yesterday (at the ever-wonderful Robannas)—which, I think, went well, in spite of my having no sleep the night before (a combination of extreme heat and a hyperactive mind). I was like unto the living dead initially, but broke the sleep barrier a bit later on. Steve picked up my slack where needed.
Demelza O’Sullivan and Liam Woon were terrific and hugely generous. A good day.
Today we did a photo shoot for a short film entitled “All Bad Things”, based on a story by Steve. The shoot was to create a faux book cover for the movie, featuring the character AJ Grimwood.
Rehearsals & shoot for film itself will be in July. More soon! Meanwhile, here is said faux book cover—photography and Photoshop by me.
Relatively fresh off the drawing board, and done for the next, Frankenstein-themed Birmingham Horror meetup. I was unsure about it in some ways, but Steve likes it just fine, so who am I to argue?
Here’s an unused panel from a strip I’ve been working on. It’s literally all I can put out there right now as it is part of a pitch intended for publication, but maybe it intrigues a little… I can say, the finished thing is in colour, and the final version of this panel is really pretty similar to this one. But that’s all!
