It’s taken a month to get here (from there), but it was worth the wait!
The Sunday shoot was with Melyza Fay playing Jude, Bette Noir’s assistant, as mentioned previously. We filmed the scene at Route 44, part of the superb Inn on the Green, standing in very nicely for Club Vamp itself.
Yep, we held rehearsal on the short film “All Bad Things” yesterday (at Robannas)—which, I think, went well, in spite of my having no sleep the night before (a combination of extreme heat and a hyperactive mind). I was like unto the living dead initially, but broke the sleep barrier a bit later on. Steve picked up my slack where needed.
As mentioned elsewhere, work is underway on a Club Vamporama live-action teaser/short film, including prelim talks with potential cast members. The characters have been around for ten years now, and a filmed version has been discussed for 4-5 years. Looks like it’s gonna start coming together! 🙂
Anyhow, a poster for a gig by Bette Noir and her band, at everyone’s fave club, is seen in the opening moments of the shooting script and called for some artwork & design to be executed so said poster could be physically printed (size will be around A0). So, Yours Truly did the honours. Here it is. Below the poster is the isolated original art of Bette & Co. Feedback welcome!
Long time no see, again. Lots of things have been happening, though, even if they haven’t necessarily happened in the order I’d planned. (For instance, the long-mooted Weekly Webcomics idea didn’t get going. Yet.)
Having assembled a reasonably decent set of film gear in recent months, Steve and I have been doing a series of short items for the film show on Big Centre TV—Steve presenting, me directing & editing. Big Centre is soon to become Made in Birmingham, but hopefully we’ll continue working on this material as before.
The most recent piece, a short extract from a longer interview with Alan FrightFest Jones, which we did in London on October 19th, airs on Big Centre today (Halloween, appropriately). We’ll be uploading it to YouTube fairly soon. Here’s a pic of Steve & Alan.
Apologies for radio silence! Lots of stuff is coming—not least because I’ve been doing some new artwork and will be reviving my Webcomics activities shortly… important info about that soon.
There will also be another episode of Ghostwords TV—technical problems and being busy with other things has caused delays, but reaction to ep1 has been very positive. Stay tuned.
I do plan to write stuff on here, but working on this has been using a lot of my time in the last couple weeks. Namely, the debut episode of a new YouTube series, hosted by Steve Green, for which I have handled production, direction, design, editing, etc etc etc!
