Club Vamporama, RIP

While scanning the Darkseid piece I posted last month, I also scanned two new pages of comic strip work that I was going to post on here, but ultimately decided not to. About a dozen people have seen the strip privately, and all but one gave me nice feedback on it (the other one says he will comment on it, too, when he has time)…

It was a strip entitled “The Last Club Vamporama”. And it was indeed a finale… and maybe a kind of reboot, too, but we’ll leave it at that.

The art for it was finished on July 31st. July was actually the 15th anniversary of Club Vamp… although it was called Club Comicana back in July 2006… in fact, some of the embryo ideas/characters go wayyyy back to 1988. But the basic concept—the adventures of Jenni & Marie, sharing a crappy flat in London—was born 15 years ago.

Anyhow, I thought I’d mention it in a post to mark that 15th anniversary and the strip’s natural ending. ‘Nuff said, for now! Some (other) all-new artwork coming up next…

  1. As one of those whose gave favourable feedback, I reckon Jenni and Marie’s swansong should see the light of day, but it is, of course, entirely your decision…
